Date Night

4121 words, ~20 minute read

Every so often, despite her usual upbeat and happy nature, even Roxanne would dip into the inevitable slump of depression. She tries hiding it for the sake of those around her, and after her husband passed she became quite good at that. She’d always been the anchor for her kids, and in turn, they would help her mood even though they didn’t know they’d been. Today was one of those days. One of those days where you roll over in bed to put an arm around your partner that hasn’t been there for twenty-three years.

Those were the worst of mornings. A deep yet shallow exhaled sigh escaped the matriarch, as she sat upright in her bed, holding her head. Her loose sleeping shirt hung off her shoulder, which she fixed before standing up. She tugged at her shorts, and made her way over to her vanity, and started to fix her hair up. Roxanne liked keeping her hair long, but that came with the unfortunate drawback of a long daily care routine. Brushing away, she looks longingly back at herself in the mirror before her. Despite the fact that he’d only been with her for less than half the time he’s been gone, it didn’t make his absence any easier to grapple with.

The brush strokes slowed, as Roxanne looked more intimately at herself. She was almost fifty now, and just the thought of that stung. She had her first, Avery, at only twenty, and her second, Finn, only a few years later. She loved her kids, in more ways than one, but couldn’t help but feel like she’d been missing out on something by settling down so quickly. She looked now at her aging body, and despite it being covered in fur, she could still tell. Her arms drooped, and her tired eyes were accented by pronounced crow’s feet. Motherhood had aged her quickly, and now that she was looking at what she had become, she couldn’t help but feel some twisted form of disgust at herself. Coupled with the morning as it was so far, Roxanne couldn’t help but to tear up.

Stifling her cries, though, she put her brave face back on and finished her pre-shower routine. Soon after the warm water washed over her, she returned to finish her hair, put it up in a high ponytail, pull a bath robe over her shoulders, and finally head downstairs. She turns on the coffee maker, and brews herself a small cup before the two kiddos start to stir. Despite her calling them kiddos, Avery and Finn were anything but. Avery was 25 now, and Finn 23, though despite that they chose to still share the same room they had been all this time. Once one starts to stir, the other surely isn’t far behind.

Roxanne moves to the living room couch, and turns on the 7 AM morning news. About an hour passes, along with two cups of coffee, before Avery starts to awaken. Their room is quiet, but only for a moment before a solid thump is heard from it. It was a distinct ‘Avery fist against Finn side’ thump, something she’s come to know readily. Unsurprising to Roxanne, a louder thud then shakes the house, which was clearly a ‘Finn tackles Avery out of bed’ thud. The two make enough noise to make anyone believe they’re tearing the room apart, but their mother just smiles and calmly sips her coffee.

The door swings open, with Avery triumphantly striding out. “Good try, Finn! Shower’s mine first, them’s the rules!”

Roxanne turns to see Finn in a bit of a crumpled pile on the floor. She smiles brightly, hiding her earlier distraughtness. “Good morning, loves!”

Avery bounds over to her mom, giving her a kiss on the cheek. She sings “Morning!” before heading upstairs, taking them two at a time. Finn, though, softly groans, before rising to his feet.

“And good morning, love!”

“Morning, mom.” The boy smiles, moving over to the couch to get his good morning kiss trade. He slumps over the back, cutely draping over it.

“Sleep well?” Roxanne runs her hand through Finn’s fluff, giving him the little scritches she knew would get him purring.

“Mmm.. Well, well enough.” He does indeed start to purr at his mother’s touch, as he looks up at her with his bright blue eyes. “Avery squirms a lot.”

“I know, I know.” She pats the seat beside her, prompting Finn to join her. “You’ve got a bunk for a reason!”

He does right himself on the couch, leaning against his mom. “Well yeah sure but she insists I be her radiator!” He laughs gently. “It’s a terrible fate, mom!”

She smiles, her day already brightened from his presence. “I’m sure it is, bebs!” She kept scritching at Finn’s neck, before sighing gently as she looked over him.

Now, despite Roxanne having twenty three years of experience of covering up her feelings, Finn’s had twenty three years to learn how to pick up on her subtle cues. It’s not that it’s irregular for his mom to be up early, drinking coffee, and watching the news, but it was irregular for her not to change into something before all of that. He nudges his mom, before starting to get up. “I’m gonna go graze in the kitchen, do you want anything?”

Roxanne’s ears perk up, her smile continuing. “Oh, no dear, I’m quite alright.” Finn smiles, letting his tail brush along his mom as he gets up to go to the kitchen. His suspicions were confirmed once he got there, though. His mom hadn’t eaten anything either- Usually her day started with eggs and coffee. He grabs a few grapes from the fridge, and leans against the counter to take a moment to think. He wasn’t sure if today was some sort of anniversary or anything, but he didn’t really take much more time to think about that. Finn pops a grape into his mouth, before walking back to the living room.

“Hey, mom? Are you okay?”

Roxanne turns to face him, and as she does he realizes it- she’d been crying earlier, too… Something was wrong. “Hmm? Oh, no, I’m okay! I think I didn’t sleep well last night.” Finn nods in understanding, but his mind was now racing with ways to potentially make her day. “Why’d you ask?”

He pauses in thought for a moment. “I… was just wondering if you had anything you were doing later? Like, in the afternoon.”

Roxanne tilts her head, in slight confusion. Finn was thoughtful, sure, but he wasn’t one to make plans. “I don’t think so? I wanted to check the garden, but that’ll be sometime this morning.”

Finn smiles. “Oh, good! So, around 6, I’m gonna take you out to dinner. Anywhere you’d like is cool with me, maybe we should go check out that new steakhouse in town?”

She was surprised, and wondered if he picked up on her sadness somehow. “Aww, Finn! You don’t have to!”

He shakes his head. “I insist! You deserve a bit of a break.”

A wider smile graces Roxanne’s face. “Well, that’s very sweet. Sounds good.”

Finn’s smile also widens, as his tail starts to wag. He pops another grape into his mouth, before moving to his room’s door. “Great! It’s a date, see you at six!” Leaving the living room, he lets his door gently close behind him.

Roxanne smiles, turning back to the TV. It takes her a moment, but she then realizes. Wait, did he say date? She thought, a soft blush creeping across her face. Did my son just ask me out on a date?! She hadn’t been on a proper date in a very, very long time, and her heart pumped just as hard as when she did last. He… he actually did, oh my goodness… A goofy smile pushed its way onto her face, the blush deepening. It was flattering, being asked out. It felt great to be flattered like that, and the feeling of excitement of a date wasn’t something she was used to. She felt electrified, but then quickly realized that she had no idea what to wear. Finn probably wouldn’t mind whatever she decided, but she supposed it would be best to be ‘on trend’, or whatever the kids say these days.

She rushed upstairs, and started to look through her closet, judging the few ‘date clothes’ she still had in her wardrobe. As Avery left the bathroom, Roxanne called out from her room. “Ave, could you come here for a moment?”

She happily bounced in, smiling at her mother. “Heya mom, what’s up?” Roxanne held up another shirt to her body, looking at herself in the mirror. Avery, thinking she’d be funny, asked “Ooh, you have a date tonight?”

Roxanne turns, flabbergasted. Did Avery know already? She shushes her daughter, motioning her to close the door, which she does. “In fact I do!”

Avery smiled, wide and genuine. “Aah, that’s great! Who’s it with? Do I know him?”

“You could say that, yes!” She smiles wider. It’s like she was gossiping with her girlfriends again! “He’s nice, kinda young, but really sweet!”

Avery rolled her eyes, smiling. “It’s Finn, isn’t it.” Roxanne’s smile told it all, but Avery couldn’t help but be happy. Her mom looked more excited then she could ever remember her being, and it was radiating from her. She giggled, and went up to Roxanne to help her pick out clothes. “Do you know where you’re going?”

Roxanne nodded, explaining all of the events that took place downstairs, excitedly emoting. “So, the problem is I don’t really know what to wear here. It’s going to be kinda cool tonight I think, and we’re going to the nice restaurant-” She keeps rifling through her closet. “I know what I’d wear, but I think it’s over-dressing for your generation.”

Avery puts a hand to her chin. “I mean, yeah, probably. You’ve got skinny jeans though, right? Pair that with a nice jacket and loose shirt and I think we’re in business!”

Roxanne smiles wide, as she pulls out parts of the outfit out of the closet. The next hour or so is spent on mixing and matching, and every moment of it made her feel young again.

The day flew by, and 6 PM quickly arrived. Roxanne had checked the gardens, did some weeding and watering, took a walk around their property, cleaned up their fire pit, and surveyed a bit for standing dead wood to burn, all in an effort to keep herself busy.

But, Finn was nowhere to be found, and Roxanne was growing slightly anxious as the clock creeped towards the time of their date. She was dolled up and ready, and was now just fidgeting with her purse. Suddenly, the doorbell rang, causing her to jump a bit. It was odd- no one was to be coming around. Slowly, she opens the door, to reveal no one other than Finn, all dressed up himself.

Roxanne couldn’t help but blush at the handsome young man before her. He wore a nice flannel, draped over a crisp collared shirt. He had nicely fitted dark jeans on himself, and an eye-catching watch. To top it all off, he carried a dashing smile, and a respectful demeanor. “Well, hey there, Roxanne! Are you ready?”

Roxanne. Roxanne! Her thoughts raced. He’s never called her by her full name before, and it truly caught her by surprise. She just nodded, with a wide smile on her face. Finn extended his hand to take hers, and she grasped his eagerly. Leading her from the house to his car, Finn could barely keep his eyes off of her, his smile infectious.

The two get into Finn’s car, with Roxanne letting her hands fold over her lap, atop her purse. Finn starts up the car, and quietly mentions “Seatbelts-” as he straps himself in. She follows suit, with pride in her eyes at her son’s- no, date’s- care. He gently pulls the car out of the driveway after putting on some music from Roxanne’s younger years. He certainly liked it too, since she pretty much raised him on it, but that didn’t cheapen the thought of it. Roxanne gazed at Finn as he drove, his eyes fixated on the road. Despite that, he was smiling. Clearly, he was as excited as she was.

A few minutes pass, before Roxanne asks, “So… have you been to the restaurant before?”

Finn, without breaking his vision from the road, responds “Ah, no. I’ve heard it’s really good, though! They’ve got a big menu, so I’d be surprised if we couldn’t find something each of us liked.”

“It’s a steakhouse?”

He nods, smiling. “Mhmm! But I’ve heard they have seafood and whatnot as well.”

Roxanne smiles too, with a nod. “That sounds good… Do you think you’ll know what to get?” She needed to work on her small-talk, she felt, but Finn didn’t give up a beat.

“Hmm…” He pauses, taking a turn. “Probably some sort of steak, they’ve apparently got some sort of roasted zucchini that goes well with their cuts, too!” Finn pulls into the parking lot of the steakhouse, parking the car soon after. It didn’t seem like it was too busy as the two walked in, though the host staff still seemed like they were hard at work.

The hostess looked up from her podium, smiling at the couple. “Welcome, welcome! Table for two?”

Finn smiles, nodding. “Yeah, I’ve actually got a reservation, it should be under Finn?”

She taps on the tablet behind the podium, smiling as she pulls up the record. “Ah, yes! Here you are, Mister Heartlin.” She turns, grabbing two menus from behind her, before she begins to lead Finn and Roxanne to their table. “Right this way.” Finn gestured to Roxanne, offering her the lead, which she happily took.

Mister Heartlin… Roxanne thought. I haven’t heard that in a while either… Finn trailed Roxanne, who in turn followed the hostess. Her mind kept racing from excitement. How long has he been planning this? Did he do a lot of research on this place? He didn’t even use his phone to get here, and he uses that for everything… He memorized the directions?

They sat down at their booth table for two, and as Roxanne settled into her seat, and the waiter took their orders, she couldn’t help but gaze at her date and his handsome features. He was prim, proper, and polite as hell. His smile was golden, and his eyes enchanting.

“So, what do you do for work?” He asked, taking a sip of water.

Finn honey, you know what I do for work, she thought, before realizing he was treating this like a real date. He wanted to know about her, her life, her interests… And she couldn’t help but blush and smile. “Oh, I’m retired now, but I did secretarial work!”

“Ah, a people person you are, then? Gotta be a lot of talking, yeah?”

Roxanne laughed brightly. “Yep! But, not too much for me.”

“Must have a bunch of stories from it too!” He smiles again, and god was it infectious as ever.

“Oh yes yes. I’ve had my fair share of shareable things! But, you, Finn- what do you do?”

Finn’s all smiles, clearly happy she’s happy. “I’m finishing up college still, but I’m hopefully going into some sort of media production. Maybe I go into coaching, though? I haven’t really decided yet.”

She smiles. “Coaching? What for?” She knew, of course, but she still loved hearing Finn talk about his interests.

“Archery, actually.”

“Archery? Like, bows and arrows and stuff?”

Finn chuffs, smiling. “Yep, exactly. It’s super rewarding, seeing students' skill sets grow so quickly.”

“I bet! You must be good with them, then!”

He shrugs, somewhat ironically. “Ehh, I like to think so! They tend to like my instruction style too, so that’s always good.”

Roxanne can’t help but smile, leaning forward to put her elbows on the table, and head on top of her folded hands. “Tell me more.”

Finn returns the smile, and continues on. Despite hearing about his hopes and dreams on a daily basis, in this context it was like she was hearing them for the first time once again. Seeing him passionately describe his whole process, the intricacies of his interests, and his overall flair of his hobbies, left Roxanne in a strangely curious state of mind. It was Finn, her Finn, and even though she knew basically everything about him… This was all new. Her curiosity turned into fascination, as she kept asking questions to him that she already knew the answer to, just to hear his answers again.

She didn’t realize it at the time, but Roxanne was quickly falling for him, like how she’d fallen for his father all those years ago in high school. Eventually she was just asking questions to hear his voice, modestly quiet yet powerful, in a wide range of tones. She slowly let her head fall against her palm, as her gaze stayed fixated on the young man before her.

Their food arrived, intricately plated, and it was almost too good for the price. Finn ordered his meat rare, regaling that he liked it that way. He told a story of his grandfather, who would like to order his meat ‘mooing’. Granted, this grandfather was Roxanne’s father, and she was the one who told him the story in the first place.

They talk and talk and talk, for a long while even after their food is finished. They laughed, blushed, and talked about so many different things, trading the ball back and forth effortlessly. By the end of it all, Roxanne gazed at Finn once again, for a long moment. He’d just been talking with the waiter, arranging the payment for the meal. Roxanne had offered to split the bill, but Finn was adamant on treating her. She spied him leaving a generous tip, and was all smiles throughout the interaction.

She realized in that moment that he truly was the splitting image of his father, and everything changed. She couldn’t help but let her mouth gently hang agape, her thoughts racing again, as she finally felt her truth- she’d fallen in love again. Maybe it was wrong. It probably was, but nothing the Heartlins did was right all the time. But, she didn’t care. She knew what she wanted, and she was pretty sure he did too. As he turned back to look at her, he smiled, and got a look in his eyes as he caught her gaze.

“So, Roxanne… I think this has been going really well, so… My place or yours?”

Holy. Fuck. Her heart was basically beating out of her chest. Roxanne’s face was bright red, and she knew that if they didn’t leave soon, she’d be pouncing over the table to get at the handsome devil before her. She blurts out, without thinking, “Yours.”

Finn smiles, extending his hand as he stands from the booth. She takes it, and grips tight, as Finn leads her from the restaurant, and back to the car. She can barely keep her composure on the drive back, stealing glances at the young man driving. They pull into the driveway, get out of the car, and head to the front door.

The moment that Finn unlocks the door, Roxanne pulls him into a deep, open-mouth kiss. Finn stumbles a bit, but does anything but resist, bringing the two into the entryway. He closes the door behind them, before gently backing Roxanne into the wall. Their tongues dance together, Roxanne growing more and more desperate for the same thing Finn wanted. Finn lifts her leg, pressing her against the wall, as Roxanne gently grinds against him.

She works her hands beneath his flannel, easing him out of it, as he does the same to her coat. He breaks the kiss momentarily, to allow them to catch their breaths. “Upstairs?”

Roxanne, panting, nods. “Upstairs.” He grabs her hand, and leads her up the stairs to her room, where they eagerly shed their clothes. Finn closes the door behind them, before returning to his date, now caressing her bare form. The two continue their kiss, before Finn moves the two to the bed, where he lays her out on her back. He towers above her, and forcefully spreads her legs to the side. Crawling over her, he gives her a kiss, before trailing down her body. She grabs his head, gently caressing it as he lowers himself between her legs.

Smiling, he starts to prod at her folds with his tongue. Roxanne moans out softly, already starting to lose herself in pleasure. She runs a hand along his head, keeping him close as he starts to eat her out. Lapping in and around her pussy, while giving her clit a good amount of attention, Finn closes his eyes and simply revels in the sensation. Roxanne, on the other hand, is losing her goddamn mind, as she feels waves upon waves of pleasure rippling throughout her. She moans softly, before squeezing Finn between her thighs. She trembles, somehow managing to get out a “Don’t stop, please god don’t stop-”

As if he would. He does exactly as he’s asked, and loves every moment of it. The soft moans grew louder, as Roxanne moved closer and closer to the edge. “Finn, I’m going to cum, don’t stop-” she groans out, as her legs clamp around Finn once again, as her body rocked with her first orgasm of the night. She pants, her chest heaving as she looks down at Finn rising from her pussy. His chin dripped in her juices, and as he licked his lips clean, she blushed harder than she had before. Oh fuck.

Finn smiles, reaching over to the bedside table, pulling the drawer open to grab a condom from inside of it. How he got it there, Roxanne didn’t know, but that didn’t matter in the slightest. She smacks it from his hand, and it falls to the floor. As he goes to grab it, Roxanne grabs his hand. With her other hand, she grabs his head, and forces him to look her in the eyes. “Finn, I want you to cum in me. Don’t think about the condom.”

If Finn wasn’t as hard as he could be before, he certainly was now. He collapses on Roxanne, taking her head into a hand, as the two share another deep kiss. He slides back, gripping her legs as he lays his cock against her pelvis. It throbbed, as it laid out against her, to see how deep it’d go. Roxanne’s heart thumped, and she couldn’t help but nod at him. She wanted it. She wanted it bad.

Finn wasn’t one to deny a beautiful woman what she wanted, so he slid back, and slid into his date. She lets out an involuntary squeak, and that told Finn everything he needed to know. Gripping her legs, he goes to town, pumping his cock in and out of her. His balls sway, gently tapping against her as he thrust, and all of this sensation was stimulating Roxanne just right. She moaned, looking up at Finn with loving eyes. “Just like that, Finn-” Her lips greedily pressed against Finn’s knot, asking, no, demanding, for it.

They continued their intimate dance, up until Roxanne rode through her second, and shortly followed third climaxes. Finn grunts, pumping away, teasing Roxanne with the knot she bounced off of. His cock throbbed, and balls tensed, as he grew closer and closer to his own orgasm. “Roxanne, I’m going-”

She cuts him off. “Fill me, Finn. Breed me. Pump that cum deep inside me, and make me yours, I want nothing more than to be tied with you.”

As if it was magic, her words sent Finn over, and he pressed his knot into her. With a wet pop, Finn tied his mother, and unloaded a massive, pent up load into her. Flooding her pussy, Finn couldn’t help but groan out and grip Roxanne tightly, using her as the cum dump she so desired to be. Roxanne herself climaxes again, her pussy now filled with her son’s virile, hot seed.

The two pant, and looked at one another before sharing another deep kiss. Finn rolled them over, so she could lay on his chest. Her hair now unkempt, Finn looked at her, and couldn’t help but smile. “Roxanne…”

She couldn’t help but smile, and tear up with joy. “Thank you, Finn.” She wraps her arms around him, burying herself in his fluff. “Thank you so much.”

Finn, smiling, just gently runs his fingers through her hair. This wasn’t the first time the two had sex, but it was the first time it was like this. More than love manifested lust, this was different. Sure, they may be mother and son, but tonight? She was a young adult again. Young, dumb, horny, and full of life and hope for the future. Tomorrow, things would return to how they were, but she, tonight, was truly alive.
